|Theatre with a Twist, Inc. is ABOUT family. It is about education and it is about the well being of self and others. We are a group that promotes education in many different facets. We teach from young-to-old, from old-to-young, and among peers. We learn from the process of theatre to get along with others and be accepting individuals. We learn to play and have fun, and we learn to be respectful. Mary Spinosa-Wilson has been involved with many theatre groups for over 30 years. Her goals are simple in that she wishes everyone to be positively influenced by the joy and art of creative dramatics in all its form, from musicals to drama to storytelling and improvisation, including singing and dancing as an example of other forms of expression.
Education is key and without it, a director is simply a manager. Mary believes that her staff should get involved in all aspects of the creative process and not simply “manage” from behind the scenes. Everyone involved in Theatre with a Twist puts their souls into the creative process and it shows. The acting is genuine, the dancing fun, and the drama a learning process.
We don’t put up with external drama within our organization. The bullying and the talking about others stays outside our doors. We do not tolerate it. Everyone is expected to cooperate and everyone has fun, no matter what their learning style and what their abilities. We all have our own unique abilities and through Theatre with a Twist, we share our own uniqueness and strive to be better individuals. We do not poke fun of others because they are different. We embrace everyone’s gifts and qualities and learn that no one is perfect.
If a star comes out of our midst, we are thrilled and we will encourage those individuals that learn from us and take the first step. But in our group, everyone is a star, and to take the step to encounter others, learn to be a cohesive group no matter what your age, and to have fun, makes everyone stars.
We hope that the learning process is evident in Theatre with a Twist, and you can see the qualities that set us aside from others. We are always available to talk via phone or email about any comments that you wish to share or issues that you would like to discuss. Theatre with a Twist exists to serve its members and we value their and others’ opinions. Active members are encouraged to participate in our bi-annual meetings, learn about the 501 (c) (3) process and find out what makes this public charity community theatre organization a great place to call home. It all comes down to family. We will be there for you.
||I am a new member to Theatre With a Twist, Inc. as well as a new board member. Although my acting career took a hiatus over these past many years, I was fortunate enough to land a role in one of Mary’s productions and it has been total bliss from there. If there is one thing I can honestly say that I am learning through Mary and with Theatre With a Twist, it is patience. Her vast education and training has reminded me that there is a uniqueness in every individual. It is a learning process but with Mary’s guidance, Theatre With a Twist, Inc. is ideally the organization from which these qualities can be learned.

“Theatre with a twist is the best theatre experience I have had so far. It’s all one big family even if you don’t get a big role you still have the time of your life. It’s something you can always look forward to. I can’t wait to do more productions with them!”

My family and I had a real treat last Friday as we were entertained magnificently by the cats brought to life by T.S.Eliot and his cat poems. The singing and dancing were superbly timed and orchestrated against the magnificent backdrop of a sleek back alley amidst the fields of Kimballs in Westford, MA. Each cat stamped their unique personality with the scratch of a paw or the pull of a tail. It was fiendishly cat-like and gave one 'paws' for thought. Well done to all at Theatre with a Twist for delivering quality theatre and showmanship in yet another great production!
